Financial Aid

A Message from the Dean of Admissions & Financial Aid

Bryn Mawr College has always been very generous in granting aid to low and middle income students. In fact, Bryn Mawr awards grant aid to a higher percentage of students than the majority of institutions who have recently announced changes to their policies. We intend to evaluate our financial aid policies thoughtfully over the next year to make sure no changes are made that would negatively impact our traditional commitment to providing access to a world-class education to students from all socio-economic backgrounds, including those with the most need.

Fifty-eight percent of the Bryn Mawr student body received 17.6 million dollars in grant aid from the College during the 2007-2008 school year. All financial aid offered through the Financial Aid Office is based on need, which the College determines after a thorough review of financial information submitted by each applicant's family. All demonstrated need is met.

Even if your family does not qualify for need-based aid, the Financial Aid Office may have valuable information for you about financing options. All students are eligible to work on campus, and approximately 70 percent of Bryn Mawr's students hold campus jobs that help them meet expenses.
