Emeritus faculty members retain all faculty-level library borrowing privileges, including
Tri-college and Inter-Library Loan.
In an effort to conserve paper, the Bryn Mawr College libraries send all library notices (overdue notices, recalls, fines, bills, hold pickup and cancellations, etc.) via email to all patrons’ Bryn Mawr email addresses. Effective since 2007, the library enforces fines for overdue and lost books.
Emeritus faculty are eligible for assignment of faculty carrels for Canaday, Carpenter, and Collier Libraries.
Emeritus faculty members wishing a carrel in Canaday Library should submit an email request to email@example.com and/or contact the Circulation Supervisor. Requests are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Waiting lists are maintained.
Emeritus faculty members wishing a carrel in Carpenter Library should submit a request for carrel assignment to the Provost’s Office. The Provost’s Office works with the Head of Carpenter Library and Visual Resources to assign and renew carrels on a space-available basis. Waiting lists are maintained.
Emeritus faculty retain Bryn Mawr College e-mail accounts. Computing support is available for Bryn Mawr email accounts using the College’s web-based Communication Center, the only supported email service provided by Bryn Mawr College.
An emeritus listserv is maintained by the Provost’s Office. Emeritus faculty may subscribe and indicate their preferred email address for listserv purposes.
Help Desk support for personal computers owned by current Bryn Mawr College community members is available at no charge for issues involving connectivity to the Bryn Mawr College Communications Center.
The College Information Services (IS) provides additional services for personal computers on a fee-for-service basis. Costs range from $20 to $40, with a maximum cost of $50 plus the cost of any necessary storage media (e.g. CDs, DVDs, etc.). Affiliates must bring the computer to and leave it on campus; sign a Personal Computer Service Request to initiate a repair; and make payment at the time of pick-up.
Emeritus faculty members retain faculty/staff campus parking privileges.
When on campus, Emeritus faculty should park in Faculty/Staff lots and/or handicap designated spaces, as appropriate. A Bryn Mawr College parking permit is valid on the Haverford and Swarthmore campuses.
With an active OneCard, Emeritus faculty members may use the Schwartz Gymnasium.
Emeriti spouses and partners may also use the Schwartz Gymnasium, free of charge. To do so, they obtain a photo identification card from the Bryn Mawr OneCard office ($10 fee); complete the annual Gym Membership Application Form; and return it to the Athletics Office during weekday, business hours.
Emeritus faculty may create a Bryn Mawr Express Account by adding money to their OneCard. The Express Account is a pre-paid, declining balance account. With an Express Account, Emeritus faculty may use their OneCards at the Campus Center café, Dining Halls, Wyndham Alumnae House restaurant; and the Bookshop.
Emeritus faculty can participate in one of our four group retiree medical plans, as long as they have insurance through the College at the time of retirement and continue to pay the monthly premium.
Emeritus faculty may take advantage of the College’s Tuition Remission benefit, if the child is matriculated in an eligible program and school at the time of retirement and the retiree meets the service requirements.
The Bryn Mawr College Bookstore offers a 20% discount on books, based on publisher policies.
Wyndham Alumnae House is a member of the Association of College and University Clubs. Membership afford campus affiliates the benefit of utilizing the services of any of the 100 member clubs, located around the world.
Emeritus faculty must obtain a membership card from either Wyndham Alumnae House or the Provost’s Office.
During the academic year, the College coordinates get-togethers for Emeritus faculty members.
