On-Campus Storage

The College is offers very limited on campus summer storage in Radnor Basement to international students and students who live on the west coast (defined as Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming).

STORAGE IS LIMITED TO 2 ITEMS PER PERSON AND IS NOT GUARANTEED TO ALL WHO QUALIFY!

Students eligible for summer storage will be notified directly with the storage schedule.

These storage areas will fill quickly and are available on a first come-first served basis. So, if you want to make sure you are able to store, then put your items in early. When the storage areas are full, you will be required to make off campus storage arrangements, so do not wait until the last minute to try to store your belongings.

SUMMER STORAGE IN RADNOR BASEMENT:

  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the storage areas close.
  • Enter Radnor basement through the door facing the parking lot and Park Science Building.

Please note: Since storage is first come first serve, we cannot guarantee storage to everyone who qualifies. Please be considerate and store only what you absolutely cannot take or ship home. If every student tries to store the maximum number of boxes, there will not be enough room for everyone's belongings.

Storage Guidelines

  • The storage area is intended for items with little or no monetary or sentimental value. THE COLLEGE ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND! Please keep in mind that Radnor storage is located in the basement-so stored items are more susceptible to possible dampness . If your belongings are not insured, please see the information about off campus storage.

  • The storage area is staffed only at the times designated. It is your responsibility to note the times when storage is open. We cannot accommodate individual requests.

  • There is a maximum 2 items per student limit. Bikes, refrigerators, trunks, boxes, etc. are each counted as one item. Boxes should be no larger than 18”x18”x24”. Do not tape boxes together – 2 boxes taped together will count as two items!

  • Each item must be labeled with your name, class, and approximate date of removal (i.e. September '07)

  • All items must be stored in sealed containers. No loose items will be stored.

  • Radnor basement is only official storage location. Belongings found elsewhere will be removed and discarded.

  • Items not removed from storage by the end of the first week of classes will be removed and discarded (except for eligible students going JYA).

  • If a student does not return to the College for any reason, it is her responsibility to arrange for removal of her belongings.

  • Students may not give their storage allotment to other students even if they both qualify. Failure to comply will be considered a violation of the Honor Code.

  • Students are expected to transport their own belongings. Do not pack boxes that you cannot carry yourself. College personnel cannot provide transportation.

  • Please remember that it often takes longer than anticipated to move your belongings from your dorm room to storage, so please begin before the storage opening time.

ERDMAN STORAGE CLOSETS

The closets outside Erdman rooms are intended to be used over the summer by those students who will be living in Erdman next academic year. Since current Erdman residents have the keys to the closets, future Erdman residents should make arrangements directly with the current resident to obtain access to the closet to store belongings.  Please note that Residential Life does not have keys to these closets.  Current Erdman residents are expected to remove their belongings from the closet and store them temporarily in their current rooms if necessary in order to allow access to the storage closet. Current residents should not give their keys to the new residents at the end of the year, as all keys need to be returned to Facilities Services.

The end of the semester is a very hectic time for everyone. Therefore, we ask that you be considerate of one another's time and that you coordinate the use of the closet with respect and patience. Please get in touch with one another as soon as possible to arrange a specific date and time to put items in storage to avoid a last minute frenzy for everyone.
