Lela Aisha Jones, Assistant Professor of Dance, Invited Guest for 'Deep Roots Bold Future'
Assistant Professor of Dance Lela Aisha Jones will join Temple University Professor Emerita and author of Digging the Africanist Presence in American Performance: Dance and Other Contexts Brenda Dixon Gottschild on Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6 p.m., for an installment of Deep Roots Bold Future, a series of intergenerational conversations presented by the Painted Bride via Zoom. Lela Aisha Jones is a movement performance artist, an interdisciplinary collaborator, community-grounded organizer/curator, and the founding director of Lela Aisha Jones | FlyGround, her creative research home. She earned a B.S. in health science education from the University of Florida, an M.F.A. in dance from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman's University.
