Director of Information Security

THE POSITION

The Director of Information Security provides oversight and coordination of Bryn Mawr College’s information security program and serves as the College’s Data Privacy Officer. This position is a key member of the leadership team within the Library & Information Technology Services (LITS) division of the College and convenes institutional groups focused on information security and stewardship.

This position provides strategic advice on cybersecurity, recommends best practices for security College infrastructure and systems, and facilitates continuous improvement to meet institutional needs and enhance the College’s information security program. This includes evaluation, implementation, and service model design for technology solutions, architecture, infrastructure hardening and compliance, vulnerability identification, remediation and incident response, risk assessment, and the development/implementation of standards, guidelines, processes and procedures. The Director of Information Security works in close coordination with the Chief Information Officer; the Director of Enterprise Data, Systems, and Interfaces; the Director of Client Engagement & Planning; and the Director of Educational & Scholarly Technology and works in coordination with other partners within LITS and across the institution.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an IT/CIS or related field. Minimum of five years of related experience in information technology field. Industry-recognized certification related to job duties (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Other related and comparable education and experience will be considered.
