Additional Course Info | Class Number: 1295 This is a topics course. Course content varies.; Current topic description: The fresco was the most important medium in the Renaissance for the representation of subject matter, whether religious or secular. This seminar has as its focus the idea of public art, across the centuries and continents, whether produced years ago or more recently, whether represented, among other placed, in Mexico or China or, of course, the United States. In the first part of the class we will consider readings that discuss the opportunities and problems of such an idea of art. In the second part we will have reports, based on research, chosen by the individual members of the seminar.
