Career+Civic: Web Design and Development Career Exploration Intensive

Are you interested in web design? Join us to learn about a variety of web-related career paths and ways for you to develop your digital skills while at Bryn Mawr. Instructional sessions will include an introduction to web design principles and wireframing, HTML and CSS, and accessibility issues on the web. By the end of the workshop, you will be able to create your own site on Domain of One’s Own. This career exploration is appropriate for students with little or no knowledge of web design, as well as those students with more experience who wish to learn more about how to translate their skills into a possible career.

During the Web Design Career Exploration Intensive, you will reach the following learning outcomes: • Identifying digital competencies and reflecting on their real-world and professional applications

  • Building a personal website using Wordpress, HTML and CSS
  • Solving basic troubleshooting problems in web design
  • Reflecting on and applying accessibility standards for web design
  • Understanding a job description and articulating your abilities based on job requirements

This intensive is scheduled for 9 a.m.-5 p.m., March 8-9.
