Counter-Narratives Film Series: 'The Breadwinner'
The Breadwinner is a 2017 animated drama film from Irish animation studio directed by Nora Twomey. The film is about a young girl in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
Tri-Co’s film series features screenings of films from around the globe depicting controversial flashpoints from the 20th and 21st centuries. Each screening is followed by a discussion about the topics raised by the films, be it about a local conflict, a war, or a series of protests. We invite Tri-Co students and faculty to engage with contemporary international cinema, interrogate topical, existential crises, and learn more about the intersection between arts, politics, war, and constitutional freedoms.
