Counter-Narratives Film Series Fall '23 Discussion
Tri-Co’s film series features screenings of films from around the globe depicting controversial flashpoints from the 20th and 21st centuries. Each screening is followed by a discussion about the topics raised by the films, be it about a local conflict, a war, or a series of protests. We invite Tri-Co students and faculty to engage with contemporary international cinema, interrogate topical, existential crises, and learn more about the intersection between arts, politics, war, and constitutional freedoms.
We Are Young, We Are Strong (2014) by director Burhan Qurbani is a German drama film about the anti-Vietnamese pogrom in Rostock-Lichtenhagen in Germany in 1992.
