Counter-Narratives International Film Series: 'Tangerines'
Tri-Co’s new film series will feature monthly screenings of films from around the globe depicting controversial flashpoints from 21st-century history.
Each screening will be followed by a discussion about the topics raised by the films, be it about a local conflict, a war, or a series of protests. We invite Tri-Co students and faculty to engage with contemporary international cinema, interrogate topical, existential crises, and learn more about the intersection between arts, politics, war, and constitutional freedoms.
- Nov. 9: a screening of Los Hermanos/The Brothers
- Nov. 30: a screening of Alles Gut
Supported by a Mellon Seed Grant. Presented by the Bryn Mawr Film Studies program and Russian department; the Haverford College Visual Studies program and Peace, Justice, and Human Rights program; and Swarthmore's Film and Media Studies program.
