Digital Exhibitions with Scalar
Participants will learn the basics of how to create digital exhibitions and media-rich websites using Scalar, an open-source tool available through Domain of One's Own.
Creating a digital exhibition or visual research narrative is an enriching way to engage creatively with histories and cultural objects. In this workshop, we will discuss a few of the platforms designed to create digital exhibitions and the possibilities offered by Domain of One's Own, a webhosting service available to all Bryn Mawr community members. We'll take a deeper dive into Scalar: an open-source content management system for authoring compelling media-rich digital books and digital exhibitions. Participants will gain familiarity with Scalar, how it works, and what you can do with it, and then engage in guided practice on building a digital exhibition using Scalar.
