Disability, Unity, and Innovation Center Spring Planning Sessions
The Disability, Unity, and Innovation Center (DUIC)
The Disability, Unity, and Innovation Center (DUIC) is a welcoming place to gather with people who share a vision for a more accessible world, explore the innovative legacy of the disabled community, and learn the skills to build a future designed for everyone.
The DUIC serves a three-fold purpose:
Assistive Technology Library
The DUIC is the site of the Bryn Mawr College Assistive Technology Library. Community members can schedule appointments to meet with an assistive technology specialist for a one-on-one consultation to learn about tools to help with school and work.
Learning Lab
The DUIC serves as a space for community members to learn skills related to assistive technology, accessibility, and design. Community members can schedule one-on-one appointments or attend workshops in the space to learn these skills.
Community Lounge
The DUIC serves as a safe, accessible space for disabled community members and their allies to gather and connect.
While the assistive technology library and learning lab are available for people to use by appointment now, the community lounge is set to open at the start of next school year. This semester, we are hosting a series of listening sessions for students to share their input and help with designing the lounge space.
