Join the Distressing Math Collective for a presentation by David E. Rowe on "Emmy Noether (1882-1935): Mathematician Extraordinaire."

This talks will describe how the play Diving into Math with Emmy Noether came to be written and then first performed in Berlin in 2019. Rowe will describe some themes from the play such as: Noether's interactions with other notable figures, losing her position like several mathematicians of Jewish descent in 1933, and Noether's last 18 months of her life here at Bryn Mawr.
