Join the Distressing Math Collective for a presentation on "Topics in Geometry Processing" by Foqia Shahid '23.
We will discuss the various projects worked on as part of the speaker’s summer research experience. These include research on improving an algorithm for the generation of higher-order triangle meshes(meshes of curved rather than straight-edge triangles), a geometric modeling project that involved conducting isometric analysis for engineering applications such as heat simulations,and a geometric deep learning project on symmetry detection! The speaker will describe the goals of these projects and her contributions to them.
