DMC is an informal fun math talk. Join us as Rita Sabri ‘22 discusses the diffusion model: a stochastic model of the cognitive processes involved in simple two choice decisions (Ratcliff, 1978).
The diffusion model: a stochastic model of the cognitive processes involved in simple two choice decisions (Ratcliff, 1978). A handful of psychologists have applied the diffusion model to study task performance associated with aging, depression, and ADHD. In this talk we will delve into different diffusion models and how we worked with them over the summer. We will explain the similarities and differences across the different models with the goal of being able to identify the circumstances and how they differ from each other, and how we were challenged to choosing the right one that would fit out data sets.
