Feb 5
2024
4:00pm - 5:30pm
On Campus Event - Canaday Library, CAN 315 Computer Classroom

Got data? Excel has powerful and easy-to-use tools that can help you learn more about your data and get it into a form that Excel or other software packages can analyze. Come learn about Excel tables, Pivot tables, and methods for sorting, filtering, fixing errors in data using Excel and a real-world dataset.

This workshop was developed for students in Prof. Marc Schulz's DSCI B250 Quantifying Happiness course, but it is open to anyone who is interested in the topic.

Please register in advance to receive a link to the dataset, instructions for getting software (if needed), slides and other materials.

This workshop will be led by Jennifer Spohrer, the director of educational and scholarly technology in Bryn Mawr's Library and Information Technology Services. She's a humanist (historian) by training, but works with data daily and has developed a deep appreciation for the insights to be gained and questions that can be asked through data visualization.
