International Pronouns Day Tabling

Oct 27
2023
3:00pm - 5:00pm
On Campus Event - Outdoor Space, Pem Arch

International Pronouns Day is celebrated annually on the third Wednesday of October. The purpose of the day is to emphasize the importance of respecting and sharing pronouns while also spreading education about the diversity of pronouns and proper pronoun use.

Everyone has the right to have their pronouns respected. By sharing your pronouns with others, you can help create welcoming spaces where others feel comfortable sharing their own, although no one should feel pressured to share. There is a large diversity of pronouns used by different people, and it's important to be respectful and have an open mind.

We will be supplying pronoun pins and stickers to help initiate and open up conversations about pronoun sharing and usage. Please stop by any time to pick up a pin and sticker and learn about various topics regarding pronoun use and gender diversity!

We welcome all to join us in our (belated) celebration of International Pronouns Day.

The SGA Gender Inclusion Committee serves to maintain an inclusive, welcoming, and safe environment at BMC, especially for students of marginalized genders. As understanding of gender evolves, it is our interest to help Bryn Mawr's administration and student body navigate what it means to be a Historically Women's College and to create a better atmosphere and community on campus for students of all gender identities. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns or would like to learn more, please get in touch with Co-Head Julia Kim at jkim2@brynmawr.edu or message us on our Instagram page @genderinclusion.
