Letter Writing Event

Mar 27
2024
5:00pm - 7:00pm
On Campus Event - Dalton, Room 119

As young voices, we advocate for this issue with the knowledge that college-aged voters disproportionately register as unaffiliated voters. Young people like ourselves view their college years as an opportunity for self-discovery; we continuously refine the lens we use to view the world. But our generation has grown up with a political discourse that resembles a hurricane of voices. It should not come as a surprise that many young voters feel unsure about which political party to identify with.

Our Commonwealth remains one of seven states with closed primaries. HB 979 would change that. All five living former PA Governors have endorsed this legislation. We have also been endorsed by papers ranging from the Philadelphia Inquirer to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. We would be honored if you too could represent our voices, move this legislation forward, and better our democracy. Come support BallotPA’s mission for advocating for open primaries in Pennsylvania to enable an equal access to voting rights. Help us write letters to our representatives in office.
