Library Collection Student Internship Celebration

3:30pm - 4:30pm
On Campus Event - Canaday Library, Main Floor, Lobby

During spring break, six undergraduate students participated in the inaugural Library Collection Development Internship, a week-long internship organized by librarians in Library and Information Technology Services (LITS). The goal was to expand and diversify Bryn Mawr's library collection by having the students choose books for the library to highlight the importance of connecting books and communities. We visited two Philadelphia bookstores (Uncle Bobbie's and Giovanni's Room) to learn about the stores, their collections and their communities. Students then selected 120 books that we purchased directly to support independent local bookstores. We celebrate the addition of these books to the BMC library collection. Happy reading!

For more information about the internship and the books selected by the interns, visit our Padlet site.
