Palestinian Liberation is Environmental Justice

Apr 16
2024
4:30pm - 6:00pm
Hybrid (On Campus) Event - Dalton, Room 300

How is environmental injustice a form of violence against Palestinians? Can there be environmental justice without Palestinian liberation, or vice versa? What can the climate/environmental movement learn from the Palestinian struggle? We will engage these questions through discussion of the local and global movements for environmental justice and liberation in Palestine, exploring histories, intersections, and their joint fate. This will be a conversation with Gopal Dayaneni, professor of Race and Resistance Studies at San Francisco State University and board member of Movement Generation: Justice and Ecology Project. This will be a hybrid event and is mask mandatory.
