On Campus Event - Old Library, Great Hall/Cloisters
Emmy Noether

Please join us in Old Library for a gathering in remembrance of Emmy Noether, a pioneering mathematician who joined the Bryn Mawr faculty in 1934 after fleeing Germany and died on April 14, 1935. The day will include programming about Noether's life and legacy in Great Hall. Noether's resting place in the Cloisters will also be rededicated with a brief Jewish ceremony, and a bronze plaque will be unveiled at the burial site. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
