On Tuesday, July 26 from 7-8:30 p.m., five Bryn Mawr faculty and alumnae will offer a “teach-in” via Zoom on the recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade and on the future of reproductive rights in the U.S. The webinar, open to Bryn Mawr students, faculty, staff and alums, will offer an opportunity to consider the historical and social contexts of the Court’s decision and the political options and challenges ahead. Panelists will also speak about state-based legislative initiatives to restrict or protect abortion and reproductive rights, about possible legislative remedies in Congress, about differential impacts on those who face intersecting systemic or personal barriers to care, and about how we arrived at this position only 49 years after the Roe decision.

Panelists will be:

  • Sue Frietsche '77, Founder of the Western PA office of the Women’s Law Project and Senior Counsel
  • Mindy J. McGrath MPH '00, Senior Director of Policy and Communications at the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association
  • Tamarah Moss, Assistant Professor of Social Work and Social Research--Co-Moderator
