S.TEAM Committee (SGA) Movie Night - Rescheduled from April 20

Do you like movies, feminism, or seeing women scientists represented in the media? Do you want to celebrate the end of classes and get ready for finals? Come watch Picture a Scientist on the evening of the last day of classes with S.TEAM.

Bryn Mawr's S.TEAM (Science, Technology, (and) Engineering Advocacy (for) Mawrtyrs) Committee, a part of SGA, has decided to host a movie night for their project this semester. We will be screening Picture a Scientist on Netflix, and we will have chips and other snacks.

This event is open to everyone, regardless of your major or background/experience in STEM. This event has been rescheduled from 4/20.

Synopsis:

Picture a Scientist (2020) chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we encounter scientific luminaries - including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists - who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.
