Join us for a presentation by Mame-Fatou Niang.

Mame-Fatou Niang is an Afro-French associate professor at Carnegie Mellon University and a filmmaker. In 2015, with her student Kaytie Nielsen, she co-directed the documentary Mariannes noires, on black womanhood in today’s France. Her 2020 book Identités françaises analyzes the banlieues, femininity, and universalism through the lens of inter-sectionality. Mame-Fatou Niang is currently the Melodia E. Jones Chair at the University of Buffalo.
