Telling the Truth of Dreams

On Friday, Feb. 28, the Department of Transnational Italian Studies invites you to Tommaso Ghezzani's presentation, "Telling the Truth of Dreams: Between Mysticism and Medicine in the Ancient and Medieval Culture."
The aim of this presentation is to investigate the religious sources and, above all, the medico-physiological foundations concerning dreams and imagination that underpin medieval culture. The study of dreams, explored through a mystical lens in multiple Greek religious traditions, such as Orphism, is also a subject addressed by numerous physiologists and physicians between the 5th and 4th Centuries b. C. (Heraclitus, Democritus, Hippocrates, etc.).
The presentation takes place in Old Library 110 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bryn Mawr College welcomes the full participation of all individuals in all aspects of campus life. Should you wish to request a disability-related accommodation for this event, please contact the event sponsor/coordinator. Requests should be made as early as possible.
