Bi-Co Atidna, the only student-lead, non-partisan Palestine-Israel dialogue group in the Bi-Co, is honored to host two truly extraordinary peace activists for a presentation that you will not want to miss. On Sunday, March 2nd, speakers from Roots, the only joint Israeli-Palestinian community center in the West Bank, will give a presentation titled, "Two Truths in One Heart; Two Peoples in One Land," about their mission and project of reconciliation. The speakers, Khaled Abu-Awwad and Hanan Schlesinger, will share their journeys of how they reject violence and engage their communities to build a reality on the ground where Palestinians and Israelis can enjoy equal rights, peaceful coexistence, and true justice from rejecting the systems that perpetuate inequality in Palestine and Israel. This event will take place at Bryn Mawr College in Old Library 110 from 4-6 PM. Anyone from the Tri-Co, UPenn, and the wider community is welcome to attend. We encourage you to share this event widely. Unimaginable destruction and hatred have ravaged the Middle East for the past 16 months, which fuels the idea that people who think differently about Palestine and Israel can never find common ground or work together. Khaled and Hanan show us that people born into the most extreme oppression, and division can come together to advocate for a shared and just future.
