Using Design and Systems Thinking in the Classroom (and Beyond)
Join us for a workshop that explores how design and systems thinking can be incorporated into your pedagogy. This workshop will introduce multiple frameworks that can be used to lead students (and others!) through problem definition, evaluation, decision-making, ideating and prototyping. These methods can be used to develop assignments that encourage productive conversation, require critical thinking and help students to see themselves as active participants in their education.
We will start with a presentation and finish with a fun hands-on prototyping exercise. We will also discuss ways these methods can foster questions about equity, sustainability and inclusion. No previous experience with design thinking or makerspace equipment required.
Lunch will be provided. Please register ahead of time at this link. Email makerspace@brynmawr.edu if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!
Bryn Mawr College welcomes the full participation of all individuals in all aspects of campus life. Should you wish to request a disability-related accommodation for this event, please contact the event sponsor/coordinator. Requests should be made as early as possible.
