Dacia Maraini, a prize-winning author who in 1943 – at the age of seven – was imprisoned in a concentration camp in Japan with her family because her parents refused to swear allegiance to the Fascist government of Japan’s ally, Italy. Students from Roberta Ricci and Luca Zipoli's course "The Italian Margins" (ITALB332) will discuss with her "Vita Mia" (2023), Maraini's memoir of her experience in the prison camp. In Italian.
