The goals are to highlight human rights concerns both in Philadelphia and in the US, like issues of arbitrary detention, police brutality, school closing and underfunded schools.
The convening will be Saturday, September 17th, from 8:00AM-5:30PM and the Human Rights Tribunal will take place after the meeting - from 5:30PM-7:30PM - and will be an opportunity for people directly impacted by human rights violations to testify before a group of jurists. The jurists for this tribunal are:
- Leilani Farha, UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing
- Helen Gym, Member of Philadelphia City Council
