Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:
The final monthly diversity conversation of the year will take place on the last day of classes, Friday, April 29 from noon- 1 p.m. in the Quita Woodward Room of Thomas Library. We invite you to bring your lunch and we will provide iced tea, lemonade, and cookies for those attending.
In various diversity conversations that we have had over the past year, many members of the community have asked us to report clearly and in a centralized way the commitments we have made and the work we are doing (or plan to do) to move us toward the goal of being a more inclusive and welcoming community. Our April 29 meeting will focus on a draft report that I am currently finishing that includes summaries of work we have undertaken and on initiatives on the horizon across all relevant areas of our community. I hope to have your feedback on the draft report, which I will share a few days in advance. As usual, we will also leave open time and invite anyone attending to ask questions or raise other topics for discussion.
I know that it will be a busy day in the midst of a very hectic time of year, but I look forward to your input and a good conversation.
