In 2024, Bryn Mawr College faculty, staff, and students continued to make significant contributions to their fields, publishing groundbreaking research, thought-provoking books, influential journal articles and other scholarly and creative works across a wide range of disciplines.

From pioneering studies in the sciences to critical explorations in the humanities and social sciences, their work reflects Bryn Mawr’s tradition of academic excellence and intellectual inquiry. This year’s work not only advances knowledge but also inspires students, shapes scholarly debates, and impacts the world around us.

"The work produced by the Bryn Mawr community in 2024 exemplifies the depth of intellectual curiosity and academic rigor that define our institution," says Provost Tim Harte. "Their research not only pushes the boundaries of knowledge but also enriches our classrooms, inspires our students, and contributes meaningfully to global conversations. We are proud to celebrate their achievements and the lasting impact of their work."

Among the work produced are nearly 20 books, including Professor of Chemistry Michelle Francl's headline-making Steeped: The Chemistry of Tea , 27 book chapters or sections, newspaper and magazine articles, blog posts, podcasts, and 145 journal articles. Topics range from the efficacy of antibiotic regimens to magic and religion in the ancient Mediterranean.
