Can you talk about the skills you are learning and why they are important to you?
My dream is to pursue an MD/PhD and this internship is really important to me because this internship has given me the foundation necessary to pursue such a program. SSR has allowed me to develop not only my laboratory skills, but also my problem solving skills.
What has been the biggest challenge you have faced at your internship?
I love working independently, but it has been challenging to handle multiple experiments at once. However, I am glad to have had the opportunity because I now am confident in my ability to do so.

Exciting, independent, intense

What is most rewarding about your internship?
What is most rewarding to me is knowing that I am developing skills I will use throughout my whole career. I also love seeing the end results of experiments I have helped design. I am also finishing my thesis and it feels very rewarding to add the data collected I have this summer to my results section!
Was this internship what you expected it to be?
Yes, it is just as interesting and exciting as I hoped it would be. I have gained confidence and have been able to work on additional projects which will benefit my thesis and the whole lab.
