NYU School of Medicine Joins List of Schools Partnered with Postbac Program
Bryn Mawr’s Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program has a new partnership with NYU School of Medicine. Effective this year (2018-19), students in the Postbac Program will have the opportunity to apply to “link” to NYU School of Medicine, and if accepted they will be able to start their medical education in New York immediately following the completion of their postbac year.
One of the signature offerings at Bryn Mawr has always been “the consortial option”—an early acceptance application available to qualified students. NYU School of Medicine is the 18th medical school to partner with Bryn Mawr’s Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program in this way.
In its 47th year, Bryn Mawr’s Postbac Program stands apart from its peers with the number of consortial options available to students.
“I am very excited about this new addition to our linkage school lineup,” says Glenn Cummings, Associate Dean and Director of Health Professions Advising and the Postbac Program. “I imagine there will be significant interest among the postbacs, since NYU fits in well among the medical schools where so many of our postbacs have ended up going after they leave us—schools where opportunities for both innovative research and broad clinical training go hand-in-hand. We’re looking forward to partnering with this exceptional medical school for years to come.”
