Mary Florence Sullivan

Mary Florence Sullivan is a licensed social worker (New York) with over a decade of experience in the social work and social services field. After receiving her master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University in 2016, Sullivan joined the New York City Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence and directed an innovative program to support survivors of intimate partner violence throughout the city. Prior to this role, Sullivan supported unaccompanied migrant youth in New York City on an interdisciplinary team of social workers and immigration lawyers and worked abroad throughout Latin America.

Sullivan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Greek, Latin and Classical Languages from Bryn Mawr College. At the GSSWSR, Sullivan has facilitated the CONNECT curriculum for first year MSS students, assistant taught the Research Methods courses and has supported MSS students as a Writing Coach. Sullivan will be teaching Social Policy in Fall 2022 and most recently served as the Student Services Coordinator at the GSSWSR where she loved supporting and collaborating with current MSS students. In 2022, Sullivan received the GSSWSR McPherson Award for Academic Excellence and Community Service.
