It’s no secret that conflict exists in every organization. How we manage conflict impacts the quality of our relationships, communication, collaboration, stress level, productivity, and morale. When faced with conflict, individuals often default to avoidance or competition. Avoidance stems from 1) fear of confrontation, 2) lack of time and resources, 3) insufficient conflict resolutions skills, and 4) fear of retribution. Competition arises from our need to self-protect, to win. Neither approach leads to satisfactory or lasting solutions and often perpetuates the problem.

In this seminar, you’ll learn effective communication and conflict resolution skills to navigate the complexities of conflict situations. Employing these techniques strengthens relationships, improves communication, fosters collaboration, boosts performance, reduces stress, and improves morale. After completing the training, participants will have learned 1) the five styles of conflict management, 2) the conflict triangle as an assessment tool, 3) active listening skills for building trust and diffusing heightened emotions, 4) how to ask good questions, 5) a collaborative problem-solving approach, and 6) rewording techniques. These skills are transferable to almost any conflict situation that does not involve physical violence.

This training will benefit professionals at all levels interested in improving their communication and conflict resolution skills. Come prepared for an engaging virtual training combining lecture, group activity, and role-playing.
