Delivery: Synchronous Virtual Classroom via Zoom 

Note: This course is required of those enrolled in the Home and School Visitor Certificate program.

This two-session course expands on the Educational Law for School Social Workers graduate course, providing additional information on IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), ESL (English as a second language), and focus on Special Education Law and the 504 Rehabilitation act and how it pertains to our current, public educational system.

This workshop will be using a combination of presenting content, discussion and viewing of a Movie + Assignment (asynchronous work). 

Schedule:

Synchronous Virtual Classroom Time: 7 hours

  • March 4, 2023: 9 a.m.–1 p.m. ET
  • March 11, 2023: 9 a.m.–Noon ET

Asynchronous Learning Time: 3 hours

  • Students will be given an assignment that must to be completed prior to the first class, March 4, 2023.
