Psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is expected to be available at specific sites around the country within two to three years. Ketamine treatment is already widely available at licensed centers and online. Our media is flooded with the extraordinary data and experiences reported by clients participating in the MAPS clinical trials using psychedelics as an adjunct to traditional therapy. Some states have already decriminalized psychedelics for the general public. The data and client’s reported experiences directly challenge and expand upon the theoretical foundations of psychotherapy.

This workshop will explore how this new treatment will impact and interface with our current model(s) of psychotherapy. We will be looking at the nuts and bolts, the legal and underground systems, and the potential for healing and for problems with this powerful new paradigm.

Training Objectives: At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the basic science, purpose(s), experience(s) and integration of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.
  2. Understanding how psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy interfaces with Gestalt theory and techniques and the general field of psychotherapy.
  3. Come away with concepts and tools that are immediately applicable to your current practice as well as insights into how psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy will effect the future of our field and the larger culture.

This workshop is appropriate for all levels of practitioners in varied practice settings.
