QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper training is intended to offer hope through positive action. During this course, you will learn skills to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal or experiencing feelings of hopelessness.

This program satisfies the Act 74 Suicide Training Requirement for Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper training is intended to offer hope through positive action. During this course, you will learn skills to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal or experiencing feelings of hopelessness. It will also teach how to get help for yourself or someone you know. You will learn about the common causes of suicidal behavior, the warning signs of suicide, as well as how to get help for someone in crisis. 

The training is delivered in person by certified QPR gatekeeper instructors. By the end of this program participants will be able to 1) Recognize warning signs of someone at risk of suicide; 2) Demonstrate increased knowledge of intervention skills and what you can do to help; 3) Identify national and local referral resources; and 4) Describe how to actively listen and refer someone to help.
