History
The study of classical languages and culture is foundational to Bryn Mawr College, though much has changed since the days when every student admitted to the College was required to pass a Latin examination (through 1948). The articles gathered here tell the story of the department, its evolution over the decades, and the countless notable figures who established Bryn Mawr as a leader in the field of classical study.
