Visiting Assistant of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology (Western Asia)

The Department of Classical and Near Eastern Archaeology at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2025. The Department seeks a broadly trained archaeologist with a chronological emphasis on the Bronze and Iron Ages of ancient Western Asia. The area of specialization is open, but the successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses, including one of our core undergraduate courses, “Introduction to the Ancient Near East and Egypt”. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach classes at a graduate level (as necessary), and participate in the Graduate Group of Archaeology, Classics, and History of Art. A Ph.D. in Western Asian Archaeology or a closely relevant field by the start date is required. Previous experience of teaching at both an undergraduate and graduate level is preferred.
