Between July 10 and August 4, 2023, 20 new STEMLA Fellows joined us on campus for the second in-person STEMLA Summer Program.
Summer 2023 Program Theme: Global Medicine: The History and Biology of Epidemics
STEMLA Fellows completed three courses this summer for a total of 1.5 course credits.
- The Biology of Epidemics taught by Michelle Wein and Jennifer Skirkanich
- Conventional Medicine and Indigenous Societies in Africa taught by Kalala Ngalamulume
- Quantitative Reasoning in STEM taught by Daisy Sudparid
In addition to courses, Fellows visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art, saw the Barbie movie, took a field trip to the Penn Museum and the Mütter Museum.
