Campus Safety offers free bicycle registration for members of the Bryn Mawr College community.

Once the form is completed, a decal will be placed on the bicycle, clearly marking it and deterring theft. A copy of the registration form will be on file with Campus Safety, and the owner will retain a copy. Bicycle registration is an important prevention tool, and in the unfortunate event that the bicycle is stolen, the information can be shared with the police.

Students, faculty, staff, and guests are asked to report all crimes, medical emergencies and other safety related incidents to the Bryn Mawr College Campus Safety Department in a timely manner by dialing x7911 or 610-526-7911. If your OneCard is misplaced, lost, or stolen, report the missing card immediately so that we can deactivate the card so it cannot be used by anyone else 24/7, call Campus Safety at 610-526-7911 or access GetFunds to suspend your account.

Need a replacement card? Contact the OneCard office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays or the Campus Safety office on nights and weekends.

The Campus Safety Department has developed these parking regulations to provide adequate parking and safe driving conditions.

The regulations' objectives are to define parking areas, provide for safe traffic movement, and ensure emergency vehicles' access to all roads and parking lots.

We assist the College community in making referrals to other campus resources. 

Requests from students to be let into their room or residence hall will be completed in a timely manner. Dispatchers are to advise students that lockouts are a low priority but important, so they may anticipate a delayed response. 

The Campus Safety officer is required to ask to see the room key. If the student advises that the key is lost there will be a $50 charge for Facilities to change the core.

All exterior lockouts received after 10 p.m. and during periods of low occupancy (breaks, holidays, etc.) should be given a high priority to insure student’s safety.

There are many dorm safety meetings/hangouts during the academic year (formerly called "Safe-Teas") where Hall Advisors (HAs) and/or Dorm Leadership Teams (DLTs) invite Campus Safety to discuss safety issues on campus or within the dormitory. Campus Safety Officers exchange ideas and information, including safety awareness topics, to students, such as sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, alcohol awareness, identity theft, and social media hot topics.

Forming a partnership with the students is an essential goal of the department and benefits the entire community.

Students are strongly encouraged to come together to participate and contribute since this is an open forum-type discussion.

Campus Safety offers self-defense classes to the Bryn Mawr College community.

Campus Safety provides certified instructors of the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Systems is an international program designed explicitly for women. The program involves a two-fold process combining education and practical self-defense techniques for women only. This system is taught at over 350 colleges and universities.

The objective is to "Develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked."

Bryn Mawr College Emergency Medical Service (BMCEMS) is a student-led and student-staffed volunteer organization dedicated to providing Bryn Mawr with the highest-quality medical care. 

Any medically related call that comes into Campus Safety will be dispatched to BMCEMS with a Campus Safety Officer when BMCEMS is in service.

The Lantern Shuttle is a transportation service for Bryn Mawr College students.

The shuttle runs Monday through Sunday between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. during the academic year, except for break periods.

To request a ride, call the Lantern Shuttle dispatcher at 610-526-7900.

Student Drivers will be dispatched to pick up from requested campus locations. The shuttle is also available for pickup from two off-campus transportation locations: the R-5 (Paoli Thorndale Line) Train Station and the R-100 (Norristown High-Speed Line) Train Station.

After Lantern Shuttle hours, students should call the Campus Safety Department at 610-526-7911 for an escort.

The Safe Ride Program, in partnership with UBER Business, is to ensure the safe return to campus if a student is stranded off campus.

• Any BMC student can contact Campus Safety at 610-526-7911 and request transport.
• The Campus Safety Communications Officer/dispatcher will contact UBER Business and authorize the transport.
• The cost of the UBER will be charged to the student's account.

We assist with vehicle lockouts and jump starts.
