Summer Projects 2024
Cambrian Row/Gym Stairs
Scope: We are rebuilding the stairs between Campus and the Gym and the stairs between the Applebee field and Cambrian Row.
Impact: Stairs will be closed until July. See map below for detour.
2024 Summer Projects Continued
Scope: New fire alarm systems are being installed in three dorms.
Impact: Merion, Denbigh, and New Dorm will be off-line for the Summer.
Scope: Interior Renovation and structural modifications.
Impact: Bed and Breakfast is off-line until September
Scope: Rebuild Rhoads patio and stairs, replace the oil tank, and re-rout ventilation from the basement.
Impact: Construction activity behind Rhoads Hall and interior work in the basement, kitchen, and select rooms from June until mid-September.
Scope: Renovate rooms 100 and 101 into four offices; renovate room 131 into a research lab; renovate 139 into two lab spaces (as an alternate); convert room 206 into a shared lab, an office, and a meeting space.
Impact: Rooms 100, 101, 131, 139, and 206 will be off-line from July 15 through August 16.
Scope: Replace carpet, revise layout, add furniture, install window shades and replace circulation desk.
Impact: the library will remain open. However, circulation patterns may change and some areas of the main flow will be cordoned-off to allow work to progress.
Scope: The College will resume the ramp project within the Cloisters the week of June 10th. The work will consist of refinishing the doors into the Cloisters, installing the railing at the ramp and an ADA operator at the Cloister door adjacent to the ramp. The contractor will also be removing the interior doors connecting the communicating stair to the Great Hall and the 100-level corridor.
Impact: There will be contractor activity in Old Library.
